The Powerpuff Girls SmashFunction introduction

In January, Failbetter announced that Sunless Sea would finally be coming to iOS this spring; now the developer has revealed that the acclaimed RPG might be coming sooner than some might have expected, released on iPad at the end of this month.

An expansive spin-off of Failbetter's popular Fallen London, Sunless Sea lets players explore the waters surrounding that displaced city, a subterranean ocean where monstrous horrors, terrifying cults, and hellish secrets hide in the darkness.

You'll be able to customize your vessel with weapons, equipment, and crew, enduring the maddening effect of unknown waters during your travels and making tough choices through colorfully-written text. Cannibalism, insanity, and deals with devils are just a few fates your captain might face at sea.

Sunless Sea will be iPad only when it releases on March 23rd, compatible with iOS 8 and up and for "iPad Pro, iPad Air, iPad Air 2 or higher"

Digital board game adaptations have continued to increase in popularity over the years on mobile devices, with plenty of excellent options out there. Today, Temple Gates Games in collaboration with Rio Grande Games have thrown another into the mix with the release of Roll for the Galaxy for iOS and Android.

Roll for the Galaxy is a space empire building game for 2-5 players that's played using dice, which represent your populace. They can be assigned to different tasks such as developing new tech, settling on worlds and shipping goods. The winner will be whoever manages their people best and creates the most prosperous empire.

There are nine starting factions and equally as many starting worlds to choose from. On top of that, there are also sixty developments and settlements to work on throughout the game, so there's plenty of choice on offer.

As is often the case with any promising digital board game adaptation, there will be various modes available for players to participate in. It will have Pass and Play for those limited to one device whilst 2-5 players can also connect using network multiplayer.

Once in a blue moon there comes a game that grabs your attention for all the right reasons. Thanks to our meeting with ATGames, we got a much closer look at the upcoming arcade/interactive story game, Full of Stars.

The idea of the game is to get you and your ship of scared civilians safely to the Blue Point, a safe haven on the other side of the galaxy. It's your job to keep the peace and keep morality high through a series of disastrous events. If your morality is kept high, your crew will continue to make calm decisions and get everyone safely to their destination. However if your morality drops, people start dying and disappearing.

With at least 150 scenes so far, a whopping ten hours per story (with multiple different stories to play through), a variety of ship upgrades, and a fantastic score composed by Marcin Przybytowicz (The Witcher 3), I'd say Full of Stars is very impressive beneath its simple, 90s exterior.

You wouldn't think the two genres would mix very well initially but God knows it's something we need more of. The mixture of quick arcade levels to move closer to your destination twinned with a rich story-driven narrative which allows you to choose your path is wonderfully balanced, appealing especially to players with short attention spans: the action keeps you on your toes; the story keeps you invested.

Due out in the first quarter of 2017, Full of Stars will be free to play with in-app purchases. However it will absolutely not be pay-to-win, so don't even think about it.

On the total opposite end of the stick – if the stick was a mile long – comes ATGames' Laser Kitty Pow Pow. No, seriously. It's got lasers, kitties, and a multitude of other elements that are totally bonkers.

More traditionally an arcade game, Laser Kitty Pow Pow is a fast-paced shooter where you've got to defend your crystal from invading ninjas. It'll be free to play with IAPs such as unlocking different skins, and each skin unlocked has a different property.

Due out in the first quarter of 2017, this game will be one for those retro-heads who love a good, high-scored-based, fast-paced, laser-shooting, ninja butt-booting arcade game.

" I took the opportunity to examine the scars on his head thoroughly. I've always thought Dick was a very interesting case from a medical point of view. Lately I've been studying the history of trephining and the cases where it has been employed. Anne, I have come to the conclusion that if Dick Moore were taken to a good hospital and the operation of trephining performed on several places in his skull, his memory and faculties might be restored."

A BAT who fell upon the ground and was caught by a Weasel pleaded to be spared his life. The Weasel refused, saying that he was by nature the enemy of all birds. The Bat assured him that he was not a bird, but a mouse, and thus was set free. Shortly afterwards the Bat again fell to the ground and was caught by another Weasel, whom he likewise entreated not to eat him. The Weasel said that he had a special hostility to mice. The Bat assured him that he was not a mouse, but a bat, and thus a second time escaped.
Have you ever been put in a room with a strange device in the middle while given the instruction "Please, Don't Touch Anything"?

That's the pitch of the game here and it's of course a rule you'll have to break in order to explore the game's secrets. And it's a really weird game at that, not a linear adventure game but rather a cryptic box that you have to open multiple times in order to figure its contents.

It's also a game that you need to discover by yourself as a lot of the experience is built upon your lack of knowledge of everything around you.

The game's on sale now on iOS for a limited time. You'll be able to get it for £1.49. This discount is not yet visible on Google's Play Store.

If you're still unconvinced though, you can read the words of our own Alysia Judge who gave the game 8/10.

According to 9to5Mac, the next iteration of Apple's Apple TV is set to reposition itself as a gaming device. Because everyone loves games, and games are cool, and TVs are cool, so gaming on your TV might catch on.

This all comes from "sources with knowledge of the product" which sounds ominous to me.

You'll be able to download games directly from the TV's App Store, and play them using the device's remote.

This will have Wii-style wiggle compatibility, so you can use it to steer cars, slice swords, and all that stuff.

And apparently there'll be more traditional controller-style peripherals with pressure sensitive buttons for people who think playing games with a remote is dumb.
Wave it around
The Apple TV 4 will also feature Siri control, so you can shout at it to make it do things. But not the washing up.

The site reckons the new generation Apple TV will be announced at Apple's event next week, and that it'll retail for somewhere between $149 and $199.

We'll see how much these "sources" know come next week I guess.
