While Oculus's Rift and HTC's Vive are currently limbering up for a punch up, Sony's own PlayStation VR is months away, with Sony watching in the wings to watch the mistakes of the two powerhouses and tweaking its own headset to avoid them.

While the PlayStation VR was originally planned for release in the first half of the year, with Sony's Shuhei Yoshida suggesting it could be before E3 2016 in an interview, it's now been confirmed for an October launch after Sony realised quite how many PlayStation VR headsets they could be selling.

All reports and sources suggest the head mounted display has been finished for a while, but they're waiting both for great games but also so more units can be manufactured for day one to avoid a shortfall.

Quantity has certainly been a problem with the other headsets, with all pre-orders selling out in minutes, but the PlayStation VR still sold out on Amazon's webstore in a little under ten minutes, so who knows how successful creating more supply has been for them.

Ir.net have dug up a source that suggests Sony now expect to shift between 1 and 2 million units sold in 2016 alone, which seems like a tidy nest egg if all of these are bought at anywhere near full price.

Add into this the forthcoming PlayStation 4.5 that's rumoured for announce before the October release, a bundle pack containing the two could be a high seller and create even more demand for the headset.

It remains to be seen whether the delay will help or hurt the PlayStation VR at this point, but the virtual reality war is going to be a long one, so we'll have to see how things pan out.
Grid Autosport Mod Apk offers varieties of cars in the racing platforms to choose from and go with that in the game.
